The field of Public Health focuses on improving the health and well being of communities through research, education, and promotion of healthy lifestyles. By using a public health approach to childhood injury prevention, we are able to organize efforts to improve the health and safety of children and communities.

The following is a list of Public Health Training Centers that provide free or low-cost trainings on injury prevention and public health:

• Ask SPHERE
  This is an interactive database that allows you to submit, update, search, or browse listings of public health training programs and resources.
• CDC Public Health Training Opportunities
  This section of the CDC website provides information for public health training and fellowship opportunities.
• Michigan Public Health Training Center (MPHTC)
  MPHTC supports public health professionals by offering competency-based trainings linked to the Essential Public Health Services and the Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals.
• New England Alliance for Public Health Workforce Development
  The Alliance exists to promote and facilitate collaborative education and training among academic, local, state, and regional public health agencies.
• New York and New Jersey Public Health Training Center (NYNJ PHTC)
  The NYNJ PHTC offers free web-based training programs, as well as listings of distance-accessible public health training programs developed by other training centers and organizations.
• Northwest Center for Public Health Practice
  The Center provides training, ongoing learning resources, and evaluation expertise for professionals to stay current and build their capacity in public health practices.
• Pacific Public Health Training Center (PPHTC)
  The Center collaborates with strategic partners to providing training that is innovative, effective, flexible in methodology, and accessible to our constituents.
• Pennsylvania and Ohio Public Health Training Center (POPHTC)
  POPHTC provides needed training and ongoing professional development for those workers dedicated to population health services.
• South Central Public Health Partnership
  The Partnership provides training opportunities for practitioners to continue their education, learn new management skills, and engage with other public health professionals to share experiences.
• Southeast Public Health Training Center
  The Center works to strengthen the core competencies and capabilities of the current and future public health workforce.
• The Upper Midwest Public Health Training Center
  The Center assesses the training needs of the public health workforce and provides trainings to meet those needs.

  TRAIN California is a comprehensive database of nationwide learning opportunities for professionals who protect the public's health.
• University of Minnesota Center for Public Health Education and Outreach (CPHEO)
  CPHEO supports academic and public health practice communities through educational programs, online courses, and by managing training outreach.
