Using successful practices in injury prevention |
The California Injury Prevention Network (CIPN) is a statewide resource funded by the California Kids’ Plates Program, a program overseen and administered by the California Department of Public Health, EPIC Branch. The Kids’ Plates Program works to reduce the impact of childhood injuries by providing technical support and grant funding to programs in California that use best and promising practices to address child and adolescent unintentional injury prevention. The Kids’ Plates Program also funds numerous capacity development opportunities, such as the CIPN website, to continue the advancement of childhood injury prevention. The Kids' Plates Program funds the following nine areas of childhood injury:
- Bike Safety
- Drowning Prevention
- Fall Prevention
- Fire and Burn Prevention
- Motor Vehicle Occupant Safety

- Poison Prevention
- Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and Safe Sleeping Habits
