Funding: Nickelodeon’s Big Green Help grant is providing resources to schools and community-based organizations to support environmentally friendly projects that educate and inspire kids to take care of the environment; be active and live healthily; and engage in community service. Grants range from $2,500 to $5,000.

• CDC's Injury Center Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA): Preventing Unintentional Childhood Injuries (RFA-CE-10-001)
Funding: This FOA encourages research that will build the scientific base for the prevention of unintentional injuries to children, 0 -19 years. Awards will be up to $175,000 per year for two years.
Deadline: January 8, 2010.

• CDC's Injury Center Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA): Research Grants for Preventing Violence and Violence-Related Injury (RFA-CE-10-005)
Funding: The purposes of the NCIPC extramural violence prevention research program are to build the scientific base for the prevention of violence, encourage professionals from a wide spectrum of disciplines to perform research in order to prevent violence more effectively, encourage investigators to propose research that involves the development and testing of primary prevention strategies, as well as research on methods to enhance the adoption and maintenance of effective strategies among individuals, organizations, or communities. Awards will be up to $400,000 per year for three years.
Deadline: January 22, 2010.
